The Details
1 x 1 Single Elimination
Location: Lost Beach (as always)
Game Turn Time: 60 seconds
ROUND Time Limit: 45 min
FINALS Time Limit:75 min
Lowest Level:15
Highest Level:19
FEE (optional): 1 strong artifact – cannot be dark blue or purple with at least 80% of maximum attrition
OR One Tournament Ticket item!
Other Obvious Rules You Should Know About
No Artifact Use; you can pick up new ones – just don’t use it as some are too powerful.
No Sabotaging, Espionage
No Early Aborts; you play on the first map generated
Rules of Engagement
The goal is to wipe out the opponent before the time limit is reached. If the time limit is reached, the game will be aborted on time and a winner will be decided by the moderator watching your game. If the moderator has to abort, the winner is decided on units remaining at the time of abort. If both players have the same number of kills, the lower level player wins. If both players are of equal level, the game heads into OVERTIME – the game is not aborted… next kill wins.
During the Tournament, players that have paid the entry fee will get to pick their opponent throughout the tournament!! Moderators will then pick the remainder.

Hmm it seems the tournament is for the same players of last tournament.
The last was 5-6 weeks before your tournament and it was just for level 10-15, now 15-19. And the time is relative normal to level up 3-4 level.
For example player of last tournament with level of today:

Good for this players but bad for the rest of community.

I had asked for a different range of levels from berserker, but he insisted on this group. Perhaps a second or third bracket for the higher levels?

I also asked for a 2nd bracket of lvls because of Knuts reason.
I would like to see lvls 15 - 19 and lvls 20 - 24 😝
But the call is Berserkers to make ☺
But if not thier will be more tournaments in the future and more often now. 😁
So patience is a virtue Knut, I left moddin just so I could play in touraments in the future.

Just to let everyone know that I am now accepting buy-ins for those in the current level bracket of 15-19.
For those of you that want a tournament with the levels of 20-24, please notify me with either a Private Message on the forums here with the title Fragmentation Tourney 20-24 request (make sure you can also pony up the buy-in when you do so I can put you on my personal "waiting list") or contact me in-game when you see me!

I think that the brackets should follow the armor levels so that everyoune in the tourney is able to have the same type of armor.
So 7-12
13-17
18-21
22-26
and so on that way even tho everyone isnt the same level they all have the same armor type so there is no advantage or disadvantage there.
Unlike now where a lvl 15 will have an extremely hard time competing against a guy 4 levels higher then him AND better armor then him.

I agree and also brought that point up before this. When I was 19 I played maybe 3 or 4 games with good 15s. And frankly they didn't stand a chance. I think Eastlake makes a very good point. A 20 compared with a 24 has little or no chance of winnin, unless they get a lucky crit or the 24 makes to many noobish mistakes.
I think the brackets should be limited to a max of 3 levels differnce to make things more fair.
Oh and you know how I feel about the 20 + lvl bracket I'm all for it and will buy in if that brackets happens as well.

Good suggestion. But it reduce the number of player for an tournament.
And realise not just the armor are important for a match.
For example Level 18-21. Alone the difference between level 19-20 isn't small. Just one level an you get 10 health per unit, 10skills per unit, 2 perk per unit, and i believe 1 strength per unit. Its bigger difference in view of Level 21->22 with a better armor.

Difference in armor is neglible but difference between levels like 19 and 20 is huge due to access to whole set of new weapons, so sets must be designed that way so it won't allow players from different weapon subsets.

well another tournament ima miss :S
but i think u guys should make a lvl 20 ~ 24 for darken espceilay ever since he got here he wanted to play in a tournament and the last one i thinkits was 10 ~ 15 darken was 15 and the next day he did the lvl to 16 and then they announced the tournament :P and now hes 20 :P when like 2 days before they posted about this tournament he was 19 :P

i took 2nd place in a tourney AND never got any art, not even one!!! i dont know who is a third player that got it but its not ME. and you know what, i will not ask for arts anymore its just very dissapointing and frustrating. ☹
I just hope that situation doesn't hinder this tournaments turn out.
Oh and question about the arts that u give to get into the tournament.
Do all those go into the prizes, or only a select few? 😉
And any chance we can see what each person donated to get into the tournament itself next to thier names on the sign up sheet? And perhaps what the prizes will be one decided upon for which place?
That would help motivate players to join I think and give them a good idea whats to be expected in regards to entrance fees and what they get in return for givin up good arts to play in a tournament. Every tournament for every game I've played in tells you what you will win before hand including Magic the Gathering. If you wish to be taken seriously here in Gunrox tournament wise. I think that the tournament set up should follow closely with those tournaments that are apart of the world today. If the prizes are left a mystery, then whos to say its even worth donating a art to get in when you don't even know what you'll get if you win.....
All of these thoughts I've had since I started Gunrox and learned you all ran tournaments.
I've been looking forward to playing in tournaments since I started here in April.
Just hope thiers one for me eventually hehe
Personally I feel Homerun is the perfect man to run this tournament now that I've got to know him alittle better. And fully trust his judgement and feedback into this matter entirely. You have my support, I just think that my ideas here should be taken to to avoid that nasty situation last tourney. And so this tourney is more informative and you know exactly what to expect from it.

I also think that the turn out would be much greater if you showed the players exactly what to expect prize wise.
Example : I play magic the gathering and have been apart of the tournament scene for god 10 years +
I goto a draft tournament and pay 10-12 dollars to get in before hand knowing that the prizes are worth my money.
The same should apply to Gunrox tournies.
If you pay to get in you should know what exactly the prizes will be, so your not wasting your time spending cash to play and donating good arts for perhaps nothing in return if you lose or arts not worth what u donated and payed for in cash to play if u win.
I can understand if it was a free tourney be happy with what u get.

This is the question thats been buggin me alot.
I am a serious tournament player for many games abroad.
I feel these questions should be answered, for the benefit of the players of Gunrox as a whole.
So again I request these questions be responded to, so the players of Gunrox know exactly what to expect for tournaments in the future. And are not left in the dark, and second guessing if its really worth donating good arts and spending good cash on tournament play.....
