Uploading HD Screenshots [Noob Edition]
Are you new to the forum? Did one of your teammates fire at you on purpose? Do you want to post a screenshot to the forum so the moderators can see? Well this is the thread for you!
If you don't know what a screenshot is, it's just that. A snapshot of your screen. To take a snapshot of your screen, you need to locate the "Prt scrn", "prt sc", "prnt scrn", "pt scn", etc. button on your computer. Once you have done that, press it. If you play in the "windowed" mode in GUNROX, then you need to hold the ALT key at the same time you press your print screen button. This will take a snapshot of only the currect window you have opened. You have now taken a shot of your screen. But wait! How do I publish it to the Gunrox forums? It is simple.
First, open up your PAINT program. Click this link to see how to locate this program and then open it: (see how), or you could just type "paint" into the Windows Search bar by clicking on the Windows button located on the bottom left of your screen and then typing "paint" into the search box.
Now that you are in the Paint program and you have already pressed your Print Screen button, click the Clipboard icon near the top left of the screen, or you can simply press the keys CTRL and V at the same time. Click here to see how: (see how). Your image should appear. If it does not, try taking another snapshot of your screen, but this time, when you press your print screen key, press the fn key with it at the same time.
Once your image appears, we are ready to save it to the computer. To save your picture to your computer, refer to this screenshot: (see how). Click the blue button in the top left corner, then click "Save as", and then select the PNG picture format. This will save your picture in high quality. Make sure that you save this picture to your desktop by clicking "Desktop" in the left column of the save window. You can name your file whatever you like.
Now for the final step of this process. We need to upload the screenshot to the internet. To do this, click http://www.tinypic.com. Once you have opened this website, click the "Browse" button located in the middle of the screen. If you cannot find the "Browse" button, refer to this screenshot: (see how). After you click the "Browse" button, locate your file that you just saved. You should have saved it into the "Desktop" for quick access. Once you found the file in the "Open/Upload" window, click on it and click "Open".
After you Open and select your file, you may have to enter a code so you can upload your screenshot. Simply copy the text in the image shown. Once you have done that, you can click "UPLOAD NOW!" This may take awhile depending on the size of your file and the speed of your connection. Be patient.
Once it has finished uploading, you will see a list of links. We only want one of these links. Copy and Paste the link that is under the "Direct Link for Layouts" subtitle. Click this if you have any trouble: (see how). To copy and paste this link, highlight all of the text, then right click the text, click Copy. Now come back to the GUNROX forums and make a new thread. Once you are on the new thread page, click the hyperlink button. This is the hyperlink button: (see how). Once you have clicked the Hyperlink button, paste your link into the new box. To do this, type these two keys at the same time: CTRL and V, or right click in the white box and click "Paste". Then select "OK".
Now you are all set and your screenshot link is ready to go! If you need more help send me a private message in the game or in the Gunrox forums.
