No need much cash to stay full, and good build to 1x1.

In my opinion, you should have at least 1 long range weapon, some explosives and a doc.
After reaching lvl 20 i felt that, without those 3 things in my build, i'd be severely handicapped (although there are plenty of amazing builds without them).
Sig is a good weapon to try and get early on; p90 is good as well, for a scout 'cause you'll always land decent damage. Your main concern building a team should be thinking on what you really want, but realising you can't have everything in a build.
For instance, If you want a shotgun/grenader you should upgrade grenades and weight first, 'cause most of the time you'll be using grenades and not your shotgun. Also, if you go for grenades, try and get 0 dispersion early on, it's a great help against splash damage resistance perks and tricky throws (diagonal throws; map full of bushes/trees, etc).
Another example; if you go for a sig/doc early on (early 20's) realize that you won't have a powerful doc
At level 20
10 assault rifle perks + skill points = 60
5 med perks + doc perk + skill ponts = 50
melee skill points = 15
At this point you have 5 perk points left so either you focus on weight (more meds), hp (more durability) or a mix of both.
It's beneficial if you reset an assault perk per level and strengthen your doc's capability to carry more meds and/or better meds.
Nowadays you see many people with the sub-machinegun/melee build. It does good damage and you can get 16 ap around level 25 (at the expense of hp of course, but you can use the extra ap to hide/get out of the enemy's range)
So, for instance, if you like to stay back and snipe you can get 2 sigs (1 doc and 1 melee or shotgun) and 1 submachinegun/melee, submachinegun/miner or ak/miner (so you can focus more on mine perks than submachinegun perks).
