Anti-Zombie Perks

Reply

In this update we have added a way to spend zombie DNA obtained in Zombie Outbreak.

Now you can unlock laboratory for 10 DNA points and gain access to around 300 speciall Perks which will affect your performance in Zombie Outbreak mode.

The perks unlock and improve equipment that spawn in safe, allow you to take items with you, alter efficiency of weapons, reduce waiting time until next zombie outbreak and so on.

Cool update, but the costs to start are craazy, i only really manage to get 20-25 DNA upto round 18, getting the first tiers are a pain. (maybe make them 25 -> 50 ?).

1. Do zombie fights count toward medals?

2. What's the plan for zombie mode rewards?

3. ZOMBIE BOARD LEADERBOARD! ZOMBIE BOARD LEADERBOARD! ZOMBIE BOARD LEADERBOARD!

The prices might be revised once we will collect stats on how players play.

The rewards are still under consideration.

Currently our main goal for zombie mode is make a coop for it.

The goal isn’t really to unlock the entire perk tree in a couple days, so the 20–25 DNA you get by round 18 in Outbreak feels fair to me. Also, EXP boosts already help a lot with DNA gain, x2 / x3 / x7 multipliers giving increased DNA rewards makes progression feel more rewarding over time instead of instantly finished.

Zombie rewards in general would be really nice though. One idea I had: what if Perk Tree unlocks became global gameplay bonuses instead of being restricted only to Zombie Outbreak?

For example this perk

: perktree

Your grenade/rocket launchers used in Zombie Outbreak will require -1 AP to use and can target zombies at close range.” If effects like that also applied outside Zombie mode, it could even indirectly solve the old Big Gun issue we had after the Endurance perk update where we lost -1 AP action.

That would make the Zombie mode grind feel way more meaningful long-term not just “farm DNA for zombies,” but actually unlocking account-wide rewards through the perk tree. A lot of the perks already look genuinely interesting for normal gameplay too, players will be busy to fight non-stop to gain their rewards and no one can abuse + without rewards won't be motivation or a goal to keep play it

Would be great if waiting until the next outbreak could be changed.

Waiting time: 180 minutes after an outbreak. There are 4 perks in the tree that reduce the timer by 15 minutes each, so that's -60 minutes total. 180 minutes - 60 minutes = 120 minutes.

A waiting time of 150 minutes would be fine, because after the perks it would become 90 minutes, which is absolutely balanced. Right now, waiting 120 minutes still takes too much time investment. All in all in the end 150 waiting time -60 minutes perk advantages = 90 minutes would be balanced, because honestly, 90 minutes with full perk investment already sounds pretty fair and rewarding for active players, sounds pretty balanced to me for players who fully invest into the perk tree

We don't want this mode to replace the rest of gunrox, so timeout will not be reduced, but in the future updates we will add ability to spend double exp to reduce remaining time if you really want to play zombie outbreak right now.

Tips and tricks on how to progress and collect more DNA in Zombie Outbreak mode:

1) Use double EXP to increase zombie body parts drop rates.

2) First, unlock the Safe Size +1 perk in the perk tree.

3) You can now take any item/art into battle with zombies (another tab, "Zombie Outbreak Safe," will appear in your inventory where you can put this item). If you want to save this item/art, simply return it to the safe at the end of the game. It will then appear in your inventory under the "Zombie Outbreak Safe" tab after the game.

4) If you plan to play Zombie Outbreak 3-4 times a day or more, I also recommend unlocking the Faster Outbreak perks (-15 minutes until next Zombie Outbreak).

5) The main reason I've been making progress on DNA collection isn't because I know its secrets (double EXP and perks only worked this week), but because I've been playing it like crazy since it came out.

I'm going to stop playing. They removed the Arts Angles feature, and now it's boring and tedious to kill so many zombies.

Please restore the artwork update, allowing us to take the arts anglles, or platinum, golden

It was fun playing against them, it doesn't make sense to play any other way against the zombies, knowing that we're always going to lose. The game is supposed to be fun.

Keep us informed.

Tips and tricks on how to collect more DNA in Zombie Outbreak mode – Part 2:

1) The zombies you will meet in the early rounds are drones. They are very slow - they have 6 AP and 50 HP. Don't rush to kill them at long range. Wait until they get closer and kill them with a shotgun or melee. That way, you will not have to run far to get their DNA.

2) The next zombies will meet are speedy women. They are much faster - they have 8-9 AP (but only attack you once) and 50 HP. Be wary of them and kill them as soon as you see them. Or move to a safe distance so they will come closer to you next round.

3) After round 15, will meet zombies with weapons. They will attack you with glocks from a distance. They are slow (they also attack only once), but they have 100 HP. You should try to kill them as soon as possible, but it is not always possible.

4) The biggest problem in this mode is very limited ammo. Therefore, I take chainsaw and combat shotgun (it needs only one ammo per shot) at my level 42 in zombie battles. I think the following weapons also be useful in this mode:
- katana, hammer, laser sword
- gun blade
- other shotguns, but some of them take 2-3 ammo per shot (they will run out of ammo very quickly)
- G11, but 5.56 ammo doesn't appear in safe at all, and it is unclear where to get it
- tumpers \ milkors, unfortunately, 40 mm also don't appear in safe, and it is unclear where to get it
- machine guns, but they require too many ammo per shot
